YAC (Youth About Christ) Events:

 
  • Adult Chaperones Needed – YAC needs adult chaperones at all group activities.
 
  • YOUTH LEADER NEEDED:  We are still in search of a Youth Leader.  If you feel led to work with young people please speak with Rev. Bobbie. 
 

HEALTH AND WELLNESS CLUB - Note: change in time – We meet at the church at 7:00 p.m. each evening and walk on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and exercise on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  Please join us!

 

Godly Play helpers needed: Godly Play is an important part of our young students' Christian education at St. Michael's. If you are able to volunteer on one or two Thursday mornings a month here at Hope/St. Michael's to assist our Godly Play teacher, please contact the office at 713-681-6422 or email office@hope-episcopal.org.

HOPE EPISCOPAL CHURCH will hold its 5th Annual BBQ on Saturday, October 23, 2010 from 10:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Yes, that mouth-watering brisket, those finger-licking good ribs, smoked chicken and sausage with delicious potato salad and baked beans will be on the menu.    Your support is needed to make this event a success.   Here's how you can help. We are in need of donations of slabs of ribs and financial donations to support the purchase of other meats and condiments.  We will also need your support in selling tickets, marketing the event, and in setting up the day before and the day of the BBQ.  There will be a sign up sheet in the Parish Hall.  Please join us in helping to make this annual event a success. For further information please contact Danita Perry, Cornelius Perry or James Ward.

Information needed for those serving in the military:  Hope Episcopal Church would like updated information for all of the military service members we keep in our prayers, including full names and addresses.   Our current list:  Christian, Jean, Chris, Trent, Kenny, Marc, Tom, Jeremy, Greg, Eugene, Johnathan and Joseph.  Please contact Rev. Altar Flowers – If you would to dedicate Altar Flowers in memory of a loved one or to commemorate a birthday or anniversary, please contact Dorothy Colley for more information.  An Altar Flower sign-up is also available in the back of the Church.

Thursday, September 23

The Daytimers meets at 10:30 a.m. in the Parish Hall for Holy Eucharist, Bible study, games (bring your favorite from home!) and lunch afterwards.  Next week, The Daytimers meets at 10:00 a.m. here at the Parish Hall, and will be going to the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, for the exhibit "Dynasty and Divinity: Ife Art in Ancient Nigeria."  Thursday is free admission all day at the museum and admission to this special exhibit is also free.

Health and Wellness Club will meet for exercise at 7:30 p.m.

Friday, September 24

Health and Wellness Club will meet for walking at 7:30 p.m

Sunday, September 26

The Rev. Ben Shawhan will be our supply priest for both Sunday services.

Tricycles and Wheel Toys needed!  If you are cleaning out your garage or find a bargain at a yard sale, St. Michael's Day School is in need of some gently used tricycles, big wheels or other wheeled toys (not bicycles) for students—your donation will be greatly appreciated by teachers and students alike.

Cursillo Reunion Group will meet in the Parish Hall at 6:00 p.m.  Please come join us if you have ever attended Cursillo.

Health and Wellness Club will meet for exercise at 7:30 p.m.

Holy Eucharist Rite II with prayers for healing and anointing will be held at 6:30 p.m. (Please stay and join us for the Health and Wellness Club afterwards!)

Health and Wellness Club will meet for walking at 7:30 p.m.

Bishop's Visit: A special welcome and thank you to our Bishop, The Right Reverend Rayford B. Hight, Jr. Bishop Suffragan.  May God continue to bless you as you continue to serve him. 

All undesignated offerings from the service will be given for Bishop High's Discretionary Fund.
