KidzZone with Elizabeth Dowell – all children at the 10:30 service are invited to our special ministry for children.YAC (Youth About Christ) Events:  

  • Adult Chaperones Needed – YAC needs adult chaperones at all group activities.
  • YOUTH LEADER NEEDED:  We are still in search of a Youth Leader.  If you feel led to work with young people please speak with Rev. Bobbie. 

Confirmation Candidates must attend the meeting with Rev. Bobbie this afternoon, August 29, at 5:00 p.m. in the Parish Hall.

Your browser may not support display of this image. Bishop's Visit: The Rt. Rev. Rayford B. High, Jr. Bishop Suffragan, will be making his official visit to our church on Sunday September 5, 2010 at 5:00 o'clock in the evening on September 5th.. 
 
Baptism and Confirmation:  If you are an adult to be confirmed who have not been baptized I will baptize you today, Sunday, August 29th at the 10:30 a.m. service.  Children will be baptized during Bishop High's visit. 
   
It is extremely important that you attend the classes for confirmation, if you wish to be confirmed, please check the application for the dates of classes and try to attend each class. It's only a few evenings. If for some reason you are not able to attend classes these evenings please call me and let me know so we can make other arrangements.     

Godly Play helpers needed: Godly Play is an important part of our young students' Christian education at St. Michael's. If you are able to volunteer on one or two Thursday mornings a month here at Hope/St. Michael's to assist our Godly Play teacher, please contact the office at 713-681-6422 or email office@hope-episcopal.org.

 

Tricycles and Wheel Toys needed!  If you are cleaning out your garage or find a bargain at a yard sale, St. Michael's Day School is in need of some gently used tricycles, big wheels or other wheeled toys (not bicycles) for students—your donation will be greatly appreciated by teachers and students alike.

Rock-and-Roll Back-to-School Dance & Ice Cream Social

The Daughters of the King will be holding a dance and ice cream social this Saturday, August 14 from 7:00-9:00 p.m., to raise money for school supplies for Black Middle School.  Admission for couples is $5, children are $1 and those under 12 are free!  There will be free popcorn and peanuts to enjoy.  Root beer floats and sundaes will be available for purchase, as well as chicken nuggets and fries ($1 - $2).

Sunday Ice Cream Social

This Sunday, the Daughters of the King will again have ice cream creations like root beer floats, ice cream sundaes and banana splits available after the 10:30 service. The proceeds from the ice cream social will go to help purchase school supplies for Black Middle School.
